The number of sharks in the Mediterranean has dramatically reduced in number. The Hammerhead has reduced by 99.99%. The reasons fro this are overfishing and the fact they take a long time to reproduce. Fishermen regard them as pests and there numbers have not been monitored. This article from the BBC explains this.

As we send back images from the recent Mars Lander it still amazes me that there is so much to uncover on our own planet. According to Survival International there are up to a 100 undiscovered tribes in the world with over half in he Brazilian rainforest. This is a prime example where the BBC reports an undiscovered Amazonian Tribe. An aircraft took several images of the tribe who were clearly perturbed by the presence of this outsider, firing their arrows at it. The BBC attempted to decipher the images of the Maloca which is the central meeting place.
